I'm a doctor and Navy veteran.
I learned the value of hard work and personal responsibility on my family’s farm. Those same values led me to join the U.S. Navy after 9/11 and I deployed to Iraq as a combat surgeon with the Marines. When I came home, I served as a White House fellow working to improve healthcare for our veterans, before I returned to California to work as a doctor.
For me, it’s never been about politics, it’s about keeping the oaths I made to my patients and our country. But I have watched the rising cost of living and devastating forest fires make life unaffordable and uncertain for too many Californians, all while career politicians in Washington and Sacramento play politics and put themselves and their party first.
In Congress, I will take a new oath – to bring service-oriented leadership to Washington. It will be my priority to tackle inflation and the rising cost of living. As a doctor who has treated over 20,000 patients, I will protect every woman’s right to her own medical decisions, work every day to lower the cost of healthcare, and protect Medicare and social security for all Americans.
I am ready to stand up to both parties when they are wrong, whether it’s Democrats who want to defund the police, or Republicans who would criminalize abortions nationwide and defend those who attacked our country on January 6th. Visit kermitjonesforcongress.com for more.
